Rainbow Rider
Rainbow Rider is a short documentary from director Georgia Krause. The film follows Shelle, an outspoken truck driver making her way across the country to take part in a various Pride celebrations. In her rainbow big rig and with her chihuahua sidekick in tow, Shelle encounters the joys of the open road, grumpy dispatchers, and lots of middle fingers sent in her direction.

FROM THE DIRECTOR:
Shelle’s story is one that I care deeply about, and I am constantly inspired by her courage to brave the highways of America in a truck that is completely covered in Pride flags. She is outspoken in ways that I wish I could be, and she is tackling LGBTQ+ rights in a sector that remains almost invisible to most people. Trucking is, in many ways, the backbone of America’s supply chains. Without the individuals moving freight across many miles, and oftentimes through the night, society as we know it could not exist. The overlooked nature of truckers, and the queer joy the Rainbow Rider expresses, often in the face of danger and oppression, are part of what draws me to this story. It is an honor to work with Shelle, and all of those in the LGBT Truckers organization, to bring their world to the screen.
